Gary Blom: Australian Businessman

 Gary Blom was educated in Australia and his first role was a management trainee at Qantas and since then he has created and scaled a number of companies in Australia and the USA. In the early 70’s Gary Blom worked with NCR (National Cash Register) in the mainframe computer division, and that marked the starting of Gary’s entry into the business world.

In 1978, Gary Blom founded The Computer Company. This company was the sole distributor for Mitsubishi and Panasonic computers, becoming the first company globally selling the Panasonic range of microcomputers . By the early 80’s Gary Blom’s company was sold to the Singer Corporation. Making this Gary’s first taste of success in the business world.


Gary Blom’s roles and responsibilities at the various companies and businesses he has worked at have helped him to build impressive entrepreneurial qualities. In his over 30 years of professional working, and startups, Gary Blom has had to fulfill critical responsibilities like; ensuring that relationships with stakeholders are built and well maintained, and of course managing the risk that comes with starting and growing businesses.


Currently, Gary Blom is the Executive Chairman of National Property Group in New South Wales, Australia. The company seeks to ease the stress of making decisions about properties. Established in 2020, the company provides agents and other property professionals with valuable data that can influence property decisions. Gary Blom is known for being a great leader to his 30 staff. Constantly encouraging them, and ensuring a positive work culture. Gary Blom takes charge of all things concerning business and marketing.  Gary Blom is an experienced  entrepreneur & executive who has held different high positions at several organizations in Australia and the USA. His career and experience of being a businessman spanning over 30 years. He has various vital skills which include finance, sales, marketing and strategic planning.   National Property Group  was formed in 2020 whilst being a director of Main Street Capital since 2008. 

Main Street Capital is headquartered in Sydney Australia, is a financial advisory firm that provides financial advisory and capital raising services for Australian and New Zealand companies wanting to enter the U.S market. He has been in the organization for over fourteen years and has assisted a large number of Australian companies in accessing U.S capital markets. Overall, these years have been marked with various strides and achievements, helping over 40 companies during Gary Blom’s tenure. 


Gary Blom’s experience at the companies and businesses he has started and worked at, have helped him to build an impressive of resume of successful ventures.  With over 30 years of being in the business world, Gary Blom has had to deal with many different people, businesses, sectors and all the challenges that with starting and growing new companies. 


In 1986 Gary Blom founded Corporate Capital Group headquarted in New York , USA  where he was managing partner for 8 years. The primary focus of CCG was to help companies from Australia and New Zealand enter the U.S markets. One of the highlights of Gary’s time with CCG was forming a joint venture with the world’s 9th largest accounting firm at the time Laventhal and Horwath. This group was chosen as a financial advisor to Austrade in order to assist with the strategic planning to companies in Australia.

For example, working at Main Street Capital, the company has been able to; Assist a new e-commerce outlet by raising capital to help finance their next stage of business growth, develop a mutual planning alliance with a few high-quality street investment banks, counsel the owners of a mining services firm that generates more than hundred million dollars ($100m) in yearly revenues on how to structure debt ensuing the stopping of two of their substantial mining contract.

 

He also founded the Corporate Capital Group where he was the managing director for eight years (1986-1994). He established this business to help companies  in New Zealand and Australia who wanted to establish  operations in the United States of America (USA). This business under his leadership really prospered as the business and financial objectives were met and exceeded within just three years.  Also, this Corporate Capital Group was chosen as a financial advisor  to Austrade  in New York to help in the strategic planning for important Australian  industries.

Gary Blom – An Experienced Businessman Who Helps Companies Expand Into The United States.

In the property industry, Gary Blom is becoming a known executive. Gary Blom founded The Computer Company in 1978. It was a company that distributed international peripherals, software, and hardware across Australia. The Computer Company was the first sole distributor for microcomputers and personal computer in Australia for Panasonic and Mitsubishi.


In 1981, Gary Blom founded a software company, Attaché Software. For the past 37 years, the company has been in the business of serving companies’ accounting  software. The focal point for Attaché Software was providing accounting software packages to small businesses for  IBM and IBM  compatible computers. Gary Blom had a close relationship  with IBM in both Australia, Canada & the USA. He  negotiated contracts with IBM  to distribute software in the United States and Canada. Attache’ Software is one of Gary Blom’s  early start up’s and is still operating  in Australia’s software industry today .


Gary Blom has been involved in many business since Attache’ Software. He is currently an executive chairman at National Property Group and a director at Main Street Capital. 


Main Street Capital is headquartered in Sydney Australia, and is a financial advisory firm that provides financial advisory and capital raising services for Australian and New Zealand companies wishing  to enter the U.S market. He has been a director  for over fourteen years and has assisted many Australian companies in accessing U.S capital markets. Overall, these years have been marked with various strides and achievements, helping over 40 companies succeed into the US marketplace.

Gary Blom is a successful businessman and entrepreneur, who has over three decades of experience in the Australia & the USA.  Gary’s current venture National Property Group focuses on providing property data to organizations and individuals. Having garnered experience from the many sectors and work forces over his career Gary is now giving his time and attention to providing expert data and analysis to property professional via his latest venture. 

In 1978, he founded The Computer Company. It was a company that distributed personal and micro computers, peripherals, software and hardware across Australia. The Computer Company was a  sole distributor for microcomputers and personal computers in the country. Apart from distributing software &  hardware, the company was the exclusive distribution  for Mitsubishi and Panasonic computers. Gradually, the company rose to become a force in the computer market in Australia. It was the first company located outside Japan to market and distribute microcomputers made in Japan. Panasonic and Mitsubishi computers were distributed by The Computer Company and was a test market for both these companies .  One of the highlights of this project was being involved in the development of the Panasonic computers, along  with Bill Gates.  His involvement was very instrumental in the development of Panasonic computers and which was one the first to use the Microsoft operating systems, as it was the first company to sell Japanese microcomputers and PC’s outside of Japan . Gary Blom ended up selling the company to Singer Corporation after some years.

In 1981, Gary Blom was the founder  of the software company Attache’ Software. The company, is one of the oldest software companies in Australia.  The focal point for Attaché Software was providing accounting software packages to small businesses who used IBM and  IBM compatible computers. In Australia, Gary Blom had a close relationship  with IBM . He also negotiated contracts with IBM computers in the United States and Canada to provide software. After one year Attaché Software began to expand and moved it’s  headquarters to  Michigan in the United States  This project set a milestone in Australia’s software industry, being one of the oldest software companies still operating to this day. 

Gary Blom’s next venture was  Corporate Capital Group, Inc., located in both Michigan & New York .,The company provided financial advisory services to Australian and New Zealand company who wanted to expand their businesses into the United States. This business became a key financial consultancy business in the industry, helping over 40 companies in Australia or New Zealand. Having gained experience by working with several US-based companies and establishing many companies himself, Gary Blom decided to assist companies  in establishing their operations  in the United States.
